Training

2019/20:

Boys lacrosse is now an official CIF/SS playoff sport, and the season starts on Saturday, February 25, 2020 (one week earlier than before).  There will be two divisions for the 2020 playoffs.

As with all sports, the CIF has an annual training requirement of 18 hours/year.  For returning officials requirements are:

–3 hours of classroom training
–3 hours of field training
–3 hours for completion of the NFHS test

Classroom training:

–Sunday December 8, 2019:  Agoura HS, 10AM – 2 PM.  This will serve as GLALOA general meeting and classroom training

–Wednesday, December 11: Windward School, 6:30 – 9:30 PM
–Monday, December 30: 
LAPD Mission Station, 7:00 -10:00 PM
–Saturday, January 4, 2020:
LAPD Mission Station, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
–Sunday, January 12: 
Glendale HS, 9:00 – 12 Noon
–Saturday, January 25: 
Cate School, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

The remaining nine (9) hours can be met in any combination of the following:

–Additional classroom hours (GLALOA will give credit for SOCOLOA sessions and college training)
–Additional field hours (GLALOA will give credit for  SOCOLOA sessions)
–Completion of approved NFHS training videos listed below.  These are free at  https://nfhslearn.com/courses.  After    completion you must download and e-mail completion certificate – must be for the current year)

      Concussion in Sports (1 hour)
      Sudden Cardiac Arrest (1 hour)
      Sportsmanship (1 hour)
–Completion of approved USA Lacrosse training videos listed below (more may be added) – you need current membership to access
       Boys Lacrosse Rules (3 hours)
       2-man mechanics (2 hours)
       3-man mechanics (2 hours)
       crease play (2 hours)
       Game management (2 hours)
completion of youth rules test  (1 hour)

To receive credit for tests, NFHS or US Lacrosse videos, and SOCOLOA hours, you need to send current year certificate of completion to our Secretary.
